The Beginning
A Travel Luggage and a Dream
A husband and wife in Lansing, Michigan with extra clothing inside a travel luggage from a trip abroad. Sold to friends and family by appointment, out of the basement. There was no online store for modest fashion anywhere. So they built one. Three months passed before the first sale came in. Then the light came on: this can actually work.

Still just husband and wife — but the basement couldn't keep up anymore. The move into their first warehouse was a milestone that made it real. The orders were growing, the community was growing, and the dream was no longer fitting in a basement. Two people running everything, from packing to customer service to buying trips. No shortcuts. A Huge Risk. A Global Reward.
Shipping internationally for the first time was a huge risk — but it came with its rewards. Women from Scandinavia, the Middle East, East Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia were finding their way to Kabayare. Modest fashion seekers from every culture and every background now had a home. A small brand in Michigan was dressing women around the world.

The Milk Silk Revolution
For generations, the abaya came in one color: black. Kabayare changed that. The Milk Silk Maxi Dress introduced colors, prints, and personality to modest fashion while keeping the same modest silhouette women loved. Every family, every household was buying dozens.
